Our Combined TEFL Course consists of a distance learning phase plus a residential teaching practice block leading to the Advanced Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL): PHASE 1: DISTANCE LEARNING This combined version of a full TEFL certificate programme allows you to keep your present commitments whilst completing the course. The course covers exactly the same topics as a 4-week intensive course and in the same depth. First you complete the online part of the course from home and learn about theories, methodology and applied practice of TEFL / TESOL. This will allow you to study at your own pace and in your own time. Then you spend a two-week teaching practice phase with us planning lessons and teaching real classes of students: these will be a range of adult, young and Business English classes. Such practical and varied experience will make you a very strong candidate on the TEFL market. The most obvious advantage of this type of course is its flexibility: You can complete the online / distance learning phase at your own pace and then decide when to take the teaching practice block. You may even decide to start the teaching practice block before you have finished the online phase, although we recommend you complete at least 60 per cent of it first. In any case, we will try to accommodate your needs and availability. It is generally expected that trainees inform the centre of their choice of dates for the teaching practice block four weeks prior to its commencement. Our syllabus covers the following topics: Learning and learner styles View or download this TEFL / TESOL course's Syllabus and Regulations
